ten alert the kids to their own behaviour. Kids are amazingly perceptive, and we find that involving them in their own behaviour is crucial to their development. Not only is this a way for kids to become more self-aware, it is also a way for us to research their behaviour. We have access to their scores, and we can then begin to test for frequency of response and look for subgroup similarities and differences.
Online chats- The kids make our research possible, and we are always striving to find new and inventive ways to involve them. Our online chats not only allow for interaction between members, but also provide the vehicle for online focus groups. Now we are able to have directed discussions online, with the help of our moderators to guide discussion. We monitor our online focus groups and chats by scheduling a time for specific topics and then moderating each chat. These scheduled chats are only accessible with security passwords so we control who is participating and maintain our sample.

We are innovators in the skills of online research, but we also value the more traditional research methods. If required by the project, we will compliment our more technology-based methods with other more traditional forms of research. |
Focus groups- Our expertise with kids tells us that going straight to the source for answers is the most valid and productive method. We use focus groups to obtain honest qualitative insight from kids who will speak their mind and enrich our findings. Guided by our trained moderators, our focus groups maintain a comfortable atmosphere suitable for free expression by the participants.
Telephone interviews- Reactorz research is unique because we really know what kids are feeling, saying, and doing on a daily basis. Our telephone interviews are a way to capture kids' ideas and probe deeply into issues. In return, they give us truthful and articulate responses, adding a depth and richness to our research that is unprecedented in the field. We have trained our researchers to obtain optimal rapport between interviewer and respondents during the interview, and we are able to extract quality information from our sample. Our telephone interviews are structured to stimulate the kid's responses while respecting the audience ability and structuring content accordingly.
Face to face interviews- We know that kids can get bored easily, thus we are content focused in all of our research. We find that our personal interviews allow for the presentation of visual aids and stimuli during the course of the interview, thus prompting and probing can be done very effectively. We know that when dealing with kids, a relatively longer and more complex questionnaire can be administered with greater ease if it is done in person and made more interesting. Part of being in touch with kids is also knowing what interests them. We maintain our high response rate by keeping kids interested and challenged, and our face-to-face interviews always extract meaningful and useful information.
Mail surveys- Since mail surveys do demand self-completion by respondents, we ensure that our mail surveys are easy to comprehend and age appropriate. Our knowledge of kids ensures that each survey is stimulating and interesting, and invokes thoughtful and high-quality responses. It is not our intent to overwhelm the kids with long and uninspired surveys. We add our special flare to anything that they see.
